During this year's SXSW Festival, I kept a running list of URLs seen during sessions, mentioned in the hallways, or noticed on one of the Festival workstations. It's an interesting list, and appears here in its raw form.

It is interesting to notice how few new sites appear -- and, indeed, how few were the URLs I observed. In part, this arises from the spirit of the moment; in March of 2001, people were looking for business models and strategies, not for design and narrative. In part, SXSW is very social; the work that gets done is done, I think, at private parties and quiet dinners, far from the main venues.
